Braving the crowd and fighting our way for a parking space, we went to UP Town Center for dinner.
I wanted to eat at Ginza Bairin and Leah wanted Ba Noi's. But we ended up in Pinác.
How?
Da and Lex were walking around looking for restaurants with NO WAITING (ha!). Da stopped by in front of Pinac's blown up menu. The next thing I know Daddy was talking to his friend, Mayor Jerry Pelayo of Candaba, Pampanga who owns Pinac and he was serving Da his Mantekadong Balot.
Chanan, definitely no more waiting!
Mayor Pelayo suggested Kare Kare, Ulang (but it was already out of stock) and Adobong Hito sa Alagaw. We wanted the Chicharon Bulaklak and Pititian but it was also out of stock.
Suam na Mais
Chicharon
Crispy Hito Ball, Mustasa at Buro
I loved this. It's like crabcakes.
Buro - fermented rice. Didn't dare try.
Kare kare
Mantekadong Balot
I ate almost all the shoe string potatoes and mushroom gravy but Ach and Leah ate the balot.
Tortang Balasenas
Adobong Hito sa Alagaw
Surprisingly, I loved this. I've never heard of alagaw before. It's crunchy and salty perfect with the fish. Sarap papakin.
Suman, Manga at Tsokolate
Brazo de Maiz at Salabat
Calamansi Panna Cotta and Turon with Dulce de Leche
Yes we finished everything! Thank you, Mayor Pelayo for the warm hospitality and lots of kwento. :)
