To make up the previous, grouchy but well-intended post, here's a quick teaser of the new opening of Sublimation after my recent rewrite of the first ~half...

“Don't you understand?” His voice was loud over the thrashing water. “You didn't stop to ask questions. You didn't stop to understand. I said get in, and you got in. And now look at what's happening.”
Look? I couldn't see anything but water.
“How does it feel?”
The only thing I could feel was his hand, clutching my head, pressing it under the water, holding it there.
